WINTER is Coming...

Hi Everyone!
With winter there are low temperatures and storms. And winter usually slows custom shark making down. How?
We are glad you asked!

First, resins, glues and paints are just not health food. Crazy right?
As such, Cathy & I like to use a LOT of clean forced ventilation while using them to create custom sharks for people.
And this is often hard to implement during cold snaps and freezing winter weather with chemicals and plastics that only work well above 70*F.

Even the custom blend of resins that we use to make our sharks prefer warmer temps. And like all plastics, these special resins can be more BRITTLE in freezing weather. We like to ship ONLY between the freezing temperatures from our FX Shop here in the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina.

This can sometimes delay a shark a week or more waiting for random snowstorms to pass. Or, in mild winters, it is just business as usual.
Also, most all of our resins and materials cannot be shipped to us in freezing weather temps. One of our solutions is to stock up by the DRUMS!
But they never last all the way through all the heavy orders between October to March. Plus, the shelf lives are extremely limited for resins.
And we ONLY use fresh products. Period.

Our solution this year is that we are cutting back production. A lot. After all, we have been trying to be semi-retired for over a decade now!
But every year we keep getting more and more orders scheduled. To the point that we often do not get any full days off in a month. Literally.

So, those that order between now and March 2024 will be notified of these possible winter delays; and that we will ONLY be taking on a dozen or so builds a month until temperatures warm again. And, as we have these last 14 years, we strongly suggest that if you want a shark by Christmas that you order and pay in full before the
end of this month. October.

Afterwards we make no guarantees of any later or last-minute gift orders being able to be built and shipped in time for Christmas.
Those that plan ahead get to watch their loved ones unwrap SCO sharks on Christmas! For those that don't, we still offer personally customized SCO Christmas Cards for your loved ones to unwraps showing them their All New Custom Bruce Shark was ordered and awaiting its turn in the scheduled SCO build Queue.

As with ANY custom work, the earlier you order the sooner you receive, depending on the winter weather of course.
