45 years ago during Filming, when the Sharks were just NOT working, the barrels and fins were!
Just as iconic as that heralding music, the Dorsal Fin triggers that frightful image of the unseen terror lurking below the surface.
Did you know that every Bruce Shark dorsal fin in the movie differed from each other ?
On the full-bodied sharks some fins were thicker due to different materials and skin thicknesses being tried. Some fins were thicker due to the skin's bloating from water absorption (like a sponge!). Often you can tell how new a skin was by studying the bloat and waterlogging damage.
As seen in our inspirational photos gallery below, the separate Tow-able Dorsal Fin was smooth-backed and much less curvy being made from a hard skin and stiff foam backing. It was built like a fiberglass boat hull and did not thicken by absorbing water. But the whole-bodied shark's fins were typically thicker and quite curvy being made from soft skinned rubbers and sponge-like foam backing.
The newer the shark the slimmer the fin mostly!
Some dorsal fins were almost black, but some were very light gray with fantastic airbrush detail on the edges. Everyone has a favorite shark and scene and idea of what their fin should look like. That's why we will match your CUSTOM Bruce Shark Dorsal Fin to any single dorsal fin photo that you provide us to match to. You're welcome!
> You just decide on your favorite Fin-Scene and send us a screen-grab - then we match your fin to it. ☺
As most fans have told us, they don't have room for something the size of a car door on their shelves! That is why this FINTASTIC Customizable Collector's Piece is in 1/2 scale. At 1/2 scale this prop is slightly LARGER than a REAL-LIFE and FULL-SIZED Great White shark's fin! That makes this SPECIAL RELEASE yet another ORIGINAL, NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE, Shark Product provided to Shark Collectors in the history of the known Galaxy☺!
Many people have written us that they prefer the look of the Dorsal Fin of the burned face shark from the first sequel with its lighter gray and harsh black trailing edge. If that's what you want we'll match to that photo too if you send it in after you order!
