Why Our Master Bruce Is Larger Than 1:6 Scale
Our 1:6 Master Bruce has been created a touch larger than just 1:6 scale. No extra charge.
He is approximately 53+ inches long whereas exact scale of a 25 foot shark would only be approximately 50 inches depending on how you pose his head and tail. We made our shark slightly larger for two Jawsome reasons:
#1. Because even though we have advertised since late 2012 that we would take the Animatronic Bruce style Shark that we built & operated for the SyFy Channel film special GhostShark, and release an updated version of it for sale, well to be honest and plain, some very dishonest people copied our idea [again] and are rushing to try to release their smaller, less detailed and far less accurate 1:6 knock-off.
Our original shark is better, larger, more affordable and far more historically accurate. Larger, better and more affordable are the winning combination for everyone.
#2 The Jaws Shark was large but through clever camera angles and filming tricks he was made to look larger than life. Most movie scenes & photos of Bruce the shark with people nearby make the shark look larger because the actors & stunt doubles used with him were actually very petite in size, like jockeys. More average size people were filmed behind the shark, lower than him or hunched over to help Bruce look much larger.
Most pictures show the shark between the camera and the actor or above the actor making him film much larger than reality. People are simply used to Bruce the Shark looking larger for these reasons, just as these photos illustrate. We have provided what people expect when they place our shark with their 1:6 people figures. Our shark's larger size is what the film communicated. No extra charge.
Honestly, anything smaller than our shark does not look close to large enough for fans. We know these things as we have provided many mechanical sharks and monsters for six films. As well as having untold amounts of kind help from Joe Alves, Cal Acord, Eric Ropke and others who made and operated the original Sharks for Jaws. You just have to have a working foundation and experience in the industry to get these important details spot on.
