I was an older teenager when Jaws 3D released. By then I had already modeled and mechanized a few of my own sharks. I was also an avid shark fisherman and in daily contact with sharks living on the ocean during these school years. Like everyone else I knew what the movie really was, but the main shark impressed me very much, and it compelled me to learn more about FX work.

I enjoyed how well it moved, how it looked, the nature of the vastly improved artificial skin and how well it seemed to perform onscreen. For me all shark films are just about the shark. When the shark is good it even makes a bad film well worth watching, and worthy of study.

This is what Jaws 3 meant to me, a wealth of technique to study. I still love the shark today. This sketch was our placeholder for years while I made my study of the main Bruce 3D Shark and replicated our own Ultimate Bruce 3D 25-inch prototype for sale.
